Porter cable router bits are very well regarded because of the quality manufacturing process that they use in manufacturing their bits including a very accurate machining centers and computer numerically controlled multi axis grinders.
This high quality machining allows the company to make complex profiles with accuracy. Porter cable utilize thick carbide cutters on their new bits resulting in stronger bits and less prone to chipping, cracking and reducing vibration.

They also boast extra material at the cutting edge which means you can sharpen them repeatedly if you want.
Pozi Stop
Some of the larger bits have a Pozi-stop feature which allows the user to change between bits without having to adjust the cutter height. Generally the Pozi stop feature will be found in the larger cutters that cut interlocking profiles. The use of the Pozi stop feature has meant that the shaft on the Pozi stop bits are shorter than normal to prevent stuck bit problems from arising.
The company's ¼ inch and ½ inch bits are the best sellers and the ¼ inch shank is particularly useful on smaller projects. These bits cut smoothly with the minimum of fuss and with the minimum of heat being generated.
Porter cable bits are also very good from the point of view of reduced vibrations and this at the maximum RPM. There is no doubt that these router bits are very well manufactured and have highly concentric and accurately machined cutting edges.
Porter cable bits are unquestionably of high quality and if I could have one quibble it is that the ½ inch shanked profile router bit is not that easy to find with the ¼ inch shank being much more in evidence. These router bits will allow you to perform very good cutting with no chipping or tearout under normal circumstances.

The 150 psi max compressor stores more air than traditional 135 psi compressors, increasing productivity by allowing for more nails to be driven. Its 6-gallon tank also improves upon the quantity of nails that can be deployed on a single tank charge. A standard household current supports this 120-volt electric unit, and its innovative shroud and 34-pound weight advances protection and portability.
Nailers and Stapler
The FN250C finish nailer utilizes standard 16-gauge finish nails from 1 inch to 2-1/2 inches long, and it features an internal piston catch for consistent maximum power on every shot and a rear exhaust to keep contaminates away from work. Its oil- and maintenance-free motor prevents oil from staining the work surface and extends tool life. The BN138 narrow-crown brad nailer uses standard 18-gauge brad nails from 5/8 inches to 1-3/8 inches long. It too comes with a long-life motor, and it has a tool-free depth-of-drive adjustment with detents for proper setting of nail heads (as does the FN250C). And the NS100B stapler dispenses standard 18-gauge 1/4-inch staples from 1/2 inch to 1 inch long. Like the nailers, the stapler also features an internal piston catch; additionally, it has a split-nose design for easy removal of jammed staples, a sequential-style trigger with lock-off switch, and a removable non-marring nose tip.
